Ningxia Food
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Ningxia Food (宁夏美食) brings together local cuisines and food traditions across the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. Hui Muslim foodways are an important part of the region's culinary life, alongside Han and other local traditions. Wheat foods, beef and lamb, Yellow River ingredients, goji berries and seasonal produce all appear in regional cooking; dishes and customs differ from city to city.
Well-known foods include hand-grabbed lamb (手抓羊肉), lamb offal (羊杂碎), Wuzhong early tea (吴忠早茶), Guyuan yanmian rourou (燕面揉揉), Dawukou liangpi (大武口凉皮) and Zhongwei haozimian (中卫蒿子面). Regional products include Yanchi Tan sheep, Zhongning goji and Helan Mountain East Foothill wine. These are distinct local specialties, not ingredients used in every Ningxia dish.[1][2]
Ningxia Food by City
Ningxia has five prefecture-level cities. The foods below are examples associated with each place in government and regional food guides.
