Hong Kong French Toast (Chinese: 西多士; Pinyin: Xīduōshì; Cantonese: sāi dō sí) is a Hong Kong Food cha chaan teng classic: thick white bread sandwiches peanut butter or jam, is egged and deep-fried, then topped with a slab of butter and golden syrup or honey.[1]

Crisp exterior, soft interior, very sweet and rich. Distinct from pan-fried Western French toast; the deep-fry and butter crown are the HK markers.
