Introduction

Tea (茶, chá) is the most important traditional drink in China and one of the country's great contributions to world food culture. Chinese teas are usually grouped by processing method into green, white, oolong, black (red tea / 红茶), dark tea (including pu-erh), and yellow tea, plus flower-scented styles such as jasmine tea.[1]

Tea is drunk plain in most of China, served at meals, banquets, and tea houses. Famous named teas include Longjing (Dragon Well), Tieguanyin, Biluochun, and Keemun. Regional herbal infusions such as chrysanthemum tea and Guangdong-style cooling teas (凉茶) are also popular; see Chinese Drink.
