Shaobing (Simplified Chinese: 烧饼; Traditional Chinese: 燒餅; Pinyin: Shāobǐng) is a family of Northern Chinese layered baked flatbreads, often sesame-coated, sold at breakfast stalls and eaten plain or stuffed with meats and eggs.[1]

Characteristics

Flaky or dense layers depending on lamination; exterior may be crisp with toasted sesame. Fillings and shapes vary widely by city.

History and culture
