Youtiao (Simplified Chinese: 油条; Traditional Chinese: 油條; Pinyin: Yóutiáo) are long, golden deep-fried dough sticks with a crisp exterior and airy interior, eaten throughout China as a breakfast staple.[1]

Characteristics

Two strips are often stuck together before frying so the stick puffs open. Fresh youtiao are crunchy outside and fluffy inside; they soften as they cool.
